  • English
    • Located on the left bank of the Isle, Saint-Seurin-sur-l'Isle is a small town in Gironde that is clean and rich in an interesting heritage. If you know the very famous horse Jappeloup, world champion and faithful companion of Pierre Durand, it is possible to see his grave near the equestrian center.

As far as water activities are concerned, there is the Charbonnière leisure base. Hikes (especially in the natural area of Aubarède), outdoor games for children, health trails, fishing, canoes, pedal boats...everything is done to spend sunny days with family or friends. An artificial beach is even created. Relaxation guaranteed!

In terms of built heritage, you can admire the Romanesque church of Saint-Seurin, the Presbyteries, as well as many mills and locks. The Industrial Heritage was quite important.

Finally, Saint-Seurin-sur-l'Isls is a town full of surprises: it is crossed by the meridian of Greenwich and the 45th parallel north (equal distance between the North Pole and the equator). This is the only place where these two axes intersect! (on the ground).
