  Lacanau Ocean is a nice little beach town with lots of charm. Sun, fun, food and drinks. A nice walking street as well. This beach here, just at the end of said walking street, is smack in the middle of town. It's a very clean beach and quite wide. Lots of visitors, but due to its size it doesn't feel too crowded. Almost all of it is public and has some shower and bathroom facilities. But the water is quite cold. Even in summer. And it's a windy spot. It's great for surfing (they have some tournaments going on in high season), but it's not great for swimming or even sunbathing. It's too windy and wavy. But it is a nice beach. It's nice to walk on, it's nice to look at. For that it's great. But for us not for a whole day at the beach. Luckily we didn't come for that, we just wanted to catch a nice beachtown. And we did.

  Very nice beach. Even when crowded it’s pretty ok. Best to sit away from the swimmers area and more towards the surfing area. Surf is great here. Lot’s of people from the surfing school, but a lot less crowded in the back waves.

  Low season time, perfect view and pretty calm everywhere. We had a nice afternoon at the beach.
