- Not far from the Garonne , on the northern outskirts of Bordeaux , in the municipality of Bruges, the Nature Reserve of the Marshes of Bruges is a preserved ecosystem within the great Bordeaux agglomeration. The purpose of the reserve is to preserve the last vestiges of the great marshes of Bordeaux and Bruges as they are. To preserve this environment, only the marked route is accessible and only on foot. You will cross pasture meadows, marshy areas, reed beds ... You will see rare plant and animal species, in particular the European pond turtle and many butterflies, but also ancient breeds of cows and horses.
