    • Luxurious Guest House and Apartment, The Old Presbytery in Gironde

Are you looking for an exceptional place for your holidays? Located between the Gironde , the Dordogne and the Lot-et-Garonne , The Old Presbytery is an estate with a magnificent stone house dating from the 18th century , completely renovated with luxurious touches to elevate your experience. In the garden a heated swimming pool completes this landscape, inviting you to relax and unwind .

Wayne and David open the doors of their home to you, and welcome you warmly . As soon as you walk through their doors you'll discover a friendly and relaxed environment where you can unhook from the world. They are originally from London and fell in love with this region which they know well. They invite you to come and stay in the heart of the paradise they have created, and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the French countryside.

      Refined and stylish rooms

The Old Presbytery is the home of Wayne and David, and they are committed to making you feel as comfortable and welcome as staying with friends. 5 guest rooms are furnished in the spectacular 18th century house. They are spacious, bright, arranged with style and simplicity. The "super king size" bed is extremely comfortable and the The White Company  quality linen will reinforce this feeling of luxuriousness, and ensure you have a wonderful night's sleep. Each room has of course its own bathroom where you'll find complimentary toiletries and towels. Each room also has double french doors that open onto a private terrace where you can sit and relax and enjoy the beautiful view.

An Apartment is also available for those who like to be more independent. It is similar in style and quality to the guest rooms with comfy and stylish furniture.  It also has a well equipped kitchen and a separate living room. The Apartment has two private terraces, one opening onto the courtyard and the second opening onto the pool, so you can enjoy both the sunrise and sunset.

Breakfast (included for guest rooms, extra supplement for the apartment) is a moment of pleasure. Every morning, a delicious breakfast is offered, with an assortment of homemade and artisanal delicacies.  Wayne's homemade granola, local pastries and fresh bread (with a gluten-free choice), seasonal fruit and homemade jam,  boiled eggs along with Fairtrade coffee and tea.  It's the perfect start to your day.

The Old Presbytery is a very environmentally friendly establishment, with each element taken into account to limit the impact of hotel and tourist activity on the environment. To help avoid single-use plastic, each guest is given an Old Presbytery water bottle that you can use to top up with free filtered still and sparkling tap water. And if you like the bottle, you can take it with you!  Solar panels have recently been installed on the roofs of their home, so from this summer all their electricity will be produced from solar energy. You will no doubt, appreciate the efforts that Wayne and David have gone too, to make your holiday as sustainable as possible.

Would you like to spend a relaxing holiday in a prestigious location in a sunny region? You are in the right place !

A magnificent heated swimming pool awaits you for a few strokes, thanks to its counter-current swimming system. Chillout in the shade of their 300 year old cedar trees, or  sunbath on comfy loungers around the pool on a beautiful sunny afternoon.

If you prefer to workout, a heated fitness studio is at your disposal, it is bright and offers a relaxing view of an orchard. You can practice yoga or exercise on the padded sprung floor or enjoy a session in the infrared sauna for perfect muscle relaxation.

Wayne and David offer you the use of four electric bikes . They are perfect for discovering the region without getting tired, bringing back small souvenirs or tasty treats.  The house is equipped with fast charging sockets (powered by solar of course) for electric vehicles , so you can recharge your car during your stay free of charge.

Wayne and David will be happy to give you advice for walking, running,  kayaking and discovering the surrounding villages and castles and vineyards. The region is rich in history with lots of local activities and delicacies to discover: for local food products you must go to the superb Sainte-Foy-la-Grande market on Saturday morning to convince yourself of this !

Are you tired after all these adventures? A comfortable games room with a billiard table,  television and even a karaoke machine is available for you to enjoy, although they don't supply earplugs !

There is excellent Wifi available for free in all the rooms, throughout the house and around the pool.

      Delicious meals on site

David gets into the kitchen and offers you a menu full of surprises made with quality local ingredients. He uses seasonal herbs and vegetables from the garden, that will delight his guests. It is necessary to book in advance because all the dishes are homemade and made to order.

On Sunday and Monday evenings they offer a communal dinner, with homemade pizza on Sunday night and Meatless Monday the next evening.  Dinner is served on a large communal table of 14 people on their outdoor terrace so you can enjoy the magnificent view ! It is a very pleasant experience where you can enjoy the conviviality of the other guests and your hosts.  A selection of wine is available to buy, straight from their personal cellar ( the BatCave ), with any meal order. During the rest of the week, a small range of homemade dishes are available that are cooked with love, with or without meat, made up of fresh and seasonal products.

For a holiday of relaxation, rest and calm, The Old Presbytery is the ideal place. The Guest House is open from 27 April to the end of October. It is reserved for people over 18 years old. You can bring your pet , David and Wayne have two friendly and playful dogs of their own. Enjoy your holidays !

Our stay at the old presbytery was faultless. Wayne and David have thought of everything and made our stay truly wonderful. The rooms were spacious, bed super comfortable and bathroom nice and clean. David cooked us the most delicious dinner on the first night. There was also e-bikes to use and we had a great time riding around the different towns and through vineyards. The pool area is picturesque by the plum orchard and we had beautiful weather to lie by the pool. The breakfast was delicious with lots to choose from. We definitely want to come back and stay again!

What an amazing place to stay, from its beautiful location over looking fields of grapes and plums, to two amazing host with lots of wonderful insights of things to do around the area to amazing service! Dinners and wines were so romantic and peaceful that we felt like we never wanted to leave! LOVED IT! Highly recommended! Plus part is also the chef and that it’s pet-friendly. Their two dogs played with our dog, they also had a good time! We will come again soon! Thank you David and Wayne!
