Phenomenal! Don't miss this. The Citadel is huge. You can spend several hours wandering through, on, and under this dramatic, historic site. We arrived by bike and are camping in the Municipal camping area, within the Citadel walls. Absolutely amazing. We had a delicious lunch at Le Bastion, a rustic restaurant, also within the Citadel.

Still offers a great narrative of an interesting intersection of humanity and politics from a formative period in this region of France. It's UNESCO badged but lacks funding for adequate preservation projects.

Fantastic old structure, kept alive by the restaurants and few shops. Stunning.

An interesting citadel. Easy and free parking. Several restaurants and other eating places inside. Nice views. Toilets are very expensive!

We spent the night in Blaye so that we could visit the Citadel. Unfortunately, we felt that although the Citadel is worth visiting for an hour or so, the village of Blaye is just not worth...
