The Cloître des Cordeliers, dating back to the 14th century and listed as a Historic Monument, is located in the heart of Saint-Émilion. Since 1892, sparkling wines have been crafted here using the traditional method, within three kilometers of underground galleries.
Three discovery experiences are offered:
- Guided walking tour (1h – €16.50/person): a historical journey through the cloister, descending 20 meters underground into the galleries, with an introduction to the stages of Crémant de Bordeaux production. The visit concludes with a tasting of three cuvées accompanied by a Saint-Émilion macaron (juice for children).
- Guided tour by electric tuk-tuk (1h – €30/adult): a ride through the scenic landscapes and vineyards of Saint-Émilion, followed by a descent into the galleries and the same tasting experience as the walking tour.
- Electric bike rental (€30 half-day, €40 full day, €70 two days, €100 three days): a self-guided exploration of the wine-growing landscapes with bikes equipped with insulated panniers, helmets, locks, and smartphone holders.
In addition to these activities, the Cloître des Cordeliers also offers a bar serving wines, cocktails, and spirits, as well as picnic baskets. A wine themed concept store awaits inside the former church. From May to late August, festive summer evenings are held every Friday (jazz concert) and Saturday (DJ set), with free entry.
