LES CORDELIERS have been producing sparkling wines in Saint-Émilion since 1892 using the traditional method, in white and rosé, brut and demi-sec, in the underground cellars of the Cordeliers cloister.
The Cordeliers Cloister, located in the heart of the medieval town of Saint-Émilion (33), is an architectural masterpiece dating from the 14th century. Listed as a Historic Monument and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is one of the most famous buildings in Saint-Émilion.
It welcomes 700,000 wine tourism visitors each year, as well as numerous private events.
20 meters underground, in the 3 km long galleries, the sparkling wines LES CORDELIERS are aged.
Made from the most prestigious Bordeaux grape varieties and produced using the traditional "champenoise" method, LES CORDELIERS wines produce extremely fine bubbles and showcase their fruity aromas, with flavor and lightness.
The estate offers guided tours of these underground quarries, which are punctuated by a tasting of vintage wines.
The site has a wine, cocktail and spirits bar and offers a catering service in the form of picnic baskets as well as an artisanal ice cream stand, all to be enjoyed in the shaded gardens.
