Château Toulouse-Lautrec Walk in the footsteps of an illustrious painter near Bordeaux

Labeled " Maison des Illustres " in 2016, Château Toulouse-Lautrec invites you to dive into the world of the illustrious painter Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, thanks to an immersion in what was his former family home before he died there at the age of 37, on September 9, 1901.

VISIT “THE REFUGE OF THE ARTIST TOULOUSE-LAUTREC”

Discover the soul of the Château through those who brought it to life for five centuries. Walk in the footsteps of its most famous resident, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. After months of work and excess in the bohemian Montmartre, he would recharge his batteries here in the summer with his mother. This is where he set up his studio.

Accompanied by the Château's tour guide, you will explore the former apartments of the painter Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, his life as a child and as an adult. You will understand the man and meet the artist. You will also discover around thirty original works by Toulouse-Lautrec in the originals room, including sketches, posters and lithographs.

One-hour guided tour, with access included to the exhibition “Château Toulouse-Lautrec: the history of a place, the soul of a wine, the character of an artist” in the art gallery located on the first floor of the boutique.

The Château also offers the opportunity to discover the historic residence with a cultural stroll (self-guided tour), outside of guided tour slots.

To complete your experience of the Château, also take advantage of the wine tour by benefiting from the Discovery Pass at a preferential rate with the 2 visits + tasting of wines from the estate. The tasting option alone after the cultural visit is also possible. Many cultural and musical events take place at the Château all year round.

Labeled “Vineyards & Discoveries”, the Château is open to the public from Wednesday to Sunday.
