The Allées de Tourny are an emblematic avenue in the city center of Bordeaux, symbolizing the architectural elegance of the 18th century . Laid out from 1747 under the leadership of the intendant Louis de Tourny, they constitute one of the major axes of the Bordeaux "Golden Triangle", linking the Place de la Comédie (with the Grand Théâtre) to the Place Tourny, where the statue of the intendant stands. Lined with lime trees and classical buildings with magnificent facades, they were designed as a chic promenade, even inspiring Baron Haussmann for his transformations in Paris.
