  A beautiful place to be, an ancient fortress, with a magnificent view over the river Gironde. The food is good, however not exceptional. The French kitchen can do much better for the same amount of money. Nevertheless the atmosphere is very relaxed and joyful. We will certainly visit this place again in the future. And one free advice: do not sell mineral water to foreign guest, whilst other local guest are being serviced with an open bottle of free water, which is very common practice in France. We ask for tap -plat/flat water-; we where the first guest sitting that evening, otherwise we would have anticipated.

  We had a lovely evening, we hadn't booked but they found us a table. We had the choice to sit both inside or outside. The menu was in English & French. The waitress was friendly & tried her best to describe the specials board & took me to the Desert cabinet to show me. My husband & I had the specials board, it was delicious & great value. We had a very enjoyable meal.

  Slow start but was middle of lunch and we didn't have a booking. Gave us a lovely table on the side then brought wine and water quickly. Food was brilliant the day menu was great. The oysters were amazing, definitely get. When we finished a bottle and a friend's glass was low they topped it up for free. Lively staff. Definitely go
