    • The history of the museum:

The Bordeaux Historia Vini association was created in November 2007 with the aim of promoting the heritage and the very particular past of the Chartrons district by working on the project of a museum dedicated to wine and its trade. Combining tradition and the future, the museum aims to be a place of meeting and conviviality around wine news thanks to its strong links with Bordeaux winegrowers.

“Passionate about my city and its wines, I wanted to tell the story of a trade that has shaped Bordeaux for centuries and to combine a legendary place with a moment of relaxation and cultural enrichment. »

Grégory Pecastaing, Founding President of the Museum.

      The place :

Les Chartrons , an emblematic district of the Port de la Lune, today hosts the Wine and Trade Museum. In the building of Louis XV's royal broker, discover three centuries of history and fame of the great wines of Bordeaux. The imposing facade, the vaulted cellars and the cooperage retrace the daily lives of the 19th century breeder merchants.

The museum shop occupies the old cooperage and the permanent collection now replaces the barrels in the semi-underground cellars. This collection, made up of documents, rare bottles, films and winemaking equipment, brings several centuries of history to life.

Truly a huge disappointment, no interest. The employees clearly don't know much about it and just recite their script. When tasting, they say, "Oh well, we don't have that anymore! Oh well, too bad, eh?" Oh really? And isn't there a solution to address this lack?

Very nice little museum, with a lot of history. And a really great tastning session afterwards. Lovely people working there and a great shop.
