- The Leyre Delta is the meeting place between L'Eyre and the Bassin d'Arcachon. This beautiful river has carved out a valley to join the ocean. It is an interlacing of streams, crisscrossing wet meadows and forming small islets. In addition to the beauty of the landscape, the deltas are very rich environments, conducive to the establishment of many plant species, but also animals and poultry. The Landes de Gascogne Regional Nature Park extends into the Leyre valleys formed by the Petite and Grande Leyre and L'Eyre. It helps protect these specific environments. The Leyre Delta hosts the Teich Ornithological Reserve. You can contemplate many species, including Common Cranes , on a course designed to facilitate your observations, without disturbing the birds.
