    • Castillon Pujols Tourist Office, the village of Rauzan

This charming commune is located in Entre-Deux-Mers, to the east of the Gironde, less than an hour from Bordeaux, at the crossroads between Saint-Emilion and Sauveterre de Guyenne, between Garonne and Dordogne, between past and present.

      Rauzan, from past to present

This small village of 1,200 inhabitants might seem unpretentious if it hadn't won the history lottery and made the duty of transmission its hobbyhorse. Rauzan is indeed endowed with a very rich historical heritage

The Tourist Office offers you a visit (free or guided) to the Château de Rauzan, a witness to the Hundred Years' War, whose different construction phases extend from the end of the Middle Ages to the Renaissance. A medieval fortified castle that over the centuries became a residential castle, linked to the names of great men such as John Lackland, Bertrand du Guesclin and Léo Drouyn.

The famous Rauzan Antiques and Flea Market Village is where past and present converge. All year round, from Wednesday to Sunday, you can find an original gift, enhance your interior design, or wander around in search of hidden treasures !

      Rauzan, between nature and heritage

To combine nature and history, hiking trails will take you past the castle moats, the Romanesque church of Saint-Pierre de Rauzan, sailing through vineyards, fields and forests, to the Curton dolmen, dating from the Neolithic period, in the neighboring town.

The Les Caves de Rauzan wine cooperative offers a wide selection of the famous Bordeaux nectar from nearly 300 winegrowers committed to sustainable development.

Finally, it is truly underground that Rauzan will reveal its most impressive secret to you: the Grotte Célestine, an underground river from the Quaternary period. Accessible in the heart of the village by reservation at the Tourist Office, it will welcome the most curious and courageous among you!

As you can see, Rauzan has more than one trick up his sleeve, and many more secrets to reveal...

      Around Rauzan

Download the Romanesque Churches Guide here and explore the surroundings of Rauzan through several visiting circuits. Each village has its church, each village has its charm… In Ruch , take a moment to admire the Ausone tower, this small manor house from the end of the 15th century which today houses the town hall.

You can continue your walk by strolling through the newly created arboretum in the heart of the village of Sainte-Florence. In a spirit of biodiversity preservation, this 1-hectare park will introduce you to more than 60 species of trees and shrubs.

In the heart of the Château de Pujols, the town hall's wine library is offering a free escape game all summer long on the theme of "The Mystery of the Winegrower" which will delight fans of treasure hunts!

This territory, rich in unique heritage, will reveal itself during your escapades and will certainly surprise you!

Very warm welcome in this small tourist office. The young woman was very professional, and there is an interesting model of the castle!

Since the town doesn't want to accept campervans (municipal decree), we didn't eat or visit anything. Too bad. So I'm not posting a photo to avoid advertising.
