In the heart of Bordeaux , we stroll the beautiful streets of the golden triangle , we refresh ourselves near the mirror of water , admire the majestic Opera ... While we contemplate these beautiful monuments, Virginie tells us historical stories (but not that ) and points out details that we would never have seen without her expert eyes: the sculptures on the windows of the Parliament Square, a magnificent facade in a narrow street ...

Bordeaux is so nice to visit. We pass small narrow streets or large open and lively places . In addition to walking in the street, we enter some buildings through our great guide. One of my favorites: the wine shop l'Intendance . The place is simply amazing both for its architecture and for the wide selection of wines on offer . A magnificent staircase rises over 4 floors and reveals thousands of bottles. There is something for every taste and every wallet ... bottles for small budgets through the great classified growths of Médoc . The most curious who will have arrived at the summit will be able to discover bottles with incredible dimensions including double-magnums (Jeroboam) !

The restaurants in Bordeaux are not lacking and the good addresses either. A few years ago, we talked about a ratio of 1 restaurant for 285 inhabitants ! Not bad is not it ?

We continue our way by making a detour taste by Basque produce shops including Paries , institutions since 1895 which offers in my opinion, the best Basque cakes in the world . Besides, I advise you to test the nutty one ... We also stop at Pierre Oteiza's shop, some of whose products were medalists. I have the mouth water thinking about the tasting : dry sausage, chorizo, jesus, pâté ... In each shop, we are received like kings!

In France, no matter the region, it is impossible to do a tasting worthy of the name without testing our supreme product , I named the cheese . The advantage in Bordeaux is that it can be enjoyed with fabulous local wines . Once again, Virginie has found nuggets to offer us the best of local gastronomy . We taste 3 regional cheeses including my favorite Le Trappe d' Echourgnac . Have you ever tasted it? Made from cow's milk, it is a Dordogne cheese with soft dough and a strong taste. What makes it so unique is that it is refined with walnut liqueur ... a delight! Bread with cereals, smoked duck ... Virginie thought of everything to offer us a tasty break in a nice wine bar near Gambetta.

It's time for tasting wine, cheese and charcuterie ... in short, paradise.  

It does not stop in so good way because it is now time for one (or more) small sweets . Go to the Hasnaâ shop to taste fine wines . No wine here but chocolates of exceptional quality! We are expected for a small explanation accompanied by several tastings . These squares are so delicious, you want to taste everything: praline, black sesame, coriander ... without any preservatives or artificial flavors. Hat!

A moment of conviviality and sharing

Having a passionate guide to visit Bordeaux is seeing the city differently . We learn a lot and the exchanges with the group are rich. I loved talking with foreign tourists coming to visit Bordeaux. It's fun to discover their perception of France and its gastronomy . Virginie, meanwhile, has a very good contact and managed to put everyone at ease with his big smile. She created this tour more than 3 years ago and constantly adapts it to propose new addresses and experiences ... She is passionate and loves Bordeaux and her job.
