A night at the "La Cabane" hotel… or rather, an unsolicited immersion into a very personal concept of hospitality. First, we were greeted by a delicate scent of cat urine. At first, I thought it might be coming from the surrounding vegetation, because one positive thing must be said: the grounds are well-maintained. Clearly, the plants receive more attention than the guests. There are cats, too. They even try to get into the room, which is charming when you're looking for a bit of peace and quiet. Peace and quiet? Let's talk about that. Upon arrival, we were politely informed that the restaurant next to our room would be having a party on Saturday night, with music on the program. So we were informed, which, apparently, is supposed to excuse everything. The hotel seemed deserted, and quite frankly, after this experience, it doesn't surprise me at all. The room was gloomy, dirty, and damp, with mold in the shower and several corners. There was no washcloth, no shampoo, and a hairdryer that didn't even work. Attention to detail, but in the wrong direction. The air was barely breathable, and opening the door, the only real source of ventilation, was difficult because of the cats trying to get in. It was the perfect atmosphere to wonder if you'd booked a room or a survival challenge. Frankly, making people sleep in a room like that is unacceptable. It's not just the services that need improvement, it's the rooms that need renovating. A night in a hotel of horrors. Avoid at all costs.
