  Nice but the mattress and pillows weren't great. The room and location were nice.

  UPDATE: to add insult to injury, locker 1 was apparently not working, so that person took my locker. The staff at check-in told me to just take locker 2. RATHER THAN FIX LOCKER 1, when someone showed up for bed 2, the staff LITERALLY TOOK ALL OF MY THINGS OUT OF LOCKER 2 AND JUST LEFT THEM SITTING IN THE ROOM. Thank god nothing was stolen, but seriously, avoid this place like the plague - I did as I was told by the staff and they left my things at risk of theft. No other bed option was offered either, so I had to awkwardly go up backwards or have nowhere to sleep. This is far from my only hostel experience, but they have some serious issues to work out before I would ever consider staying again when I'm in Bordeaux ORIGINAL: I cannot give a good review unfortunately. I broke two toes that have had issues with healing. I noted in the booking this information and that IT WOULD BE PHYSICALLY IMPOSSIBLE to climb a tiny ladder, with weight on my toes. They put me in a top bunk with zero communication about this. I arrived, in a hurry for a very important dinner, to find that I have a bed that I cannot sleep in. I now have to be worried my entire dinner about whether or not they can find any bed available in a bigger room or not because I didn't have time to stay and sort it out after there was already a large line of people just to check in. They very clearly need a second desk staff person for peak check in times, like maybe Friday nights. They also need to figure out how to ensure that, if they decide to give bottom bunks to people who just have a preference, not an actual physical medical problem, how to let people know in advance that they cannot accommodate them. Aside from that, the rooms are nice. The location is about 30-40 min walk from the center (per Google, not per my foot 😊), but it's convenient to the train, if that's your priority (it was mine, in this case).

  First of all: This is more of a hostel than a hotel. We were aware of this when booking, but it seems to often lead to misunderstandings. We were extremely satisfied with our stay at Jost! We booked two beds in a 6-bed dorm. The friendly receptionist was able to let us check in early, which was very relaxing for our arrival. The room and beds were clean and comfortable. The curtains on the beds provide good privacy, and the lockers with code locks keep your luggage safe—everything was great! The location is also great—about 10 minutes from the train station; the city center is within walking distance, or you can take the bus, which is also just around the corner. Another highlight was the rooftop terrace, where we were able to relax and even use the pool in October. It's not heated, though, so it was a nice way to cool off :D The service at the rooftop bar and downstairs restaurant was limited due to the off-season, but that didn't bother us too much, as we were out and about a lot anyway. In the evenings and at night, you can still buy drinks at reception, but the prices are quite high, and I can't recommend them. Cons: Nothing really! Our roommates were a bit odd, but that's not the hostel's fault, and that can happen in any hostel. We still felt comfortable and safe. I highly recommend Jost :)
