- Lac d'Hourtin is the largest natural lake in France. The eastern shores of Lac d'Hourtin are the furthest from the coast and the wildest. The edges of the lake are made up of marshy meadows and forests. This area is classified as a "Sensitive Natural Area" to protect its flora and the insects it attracts. Part of its shores are integrated into the National Nature Reserve of the Dunes and Marshes of Hourtin. You can go for walks and hikes, but also guided tours organized by the tourist office.
