Lac de Lacanau is one of the great lakes of the Médoc, which constitute a wetland along the Gironde coast. Historically, it formed only one body of water with Lake Hourtin. It is also still connected to the north to the natural lake of Hourtin-Carcans by the Canal des Étangs. It flows to the south into the Bassin d'Arcachon , at the level of the Prés Salés Reserve. You will find different universes there and will be able to satisfy all your desires. The beaches of Moutchic or Grande Escoure are well equipped, with restaurants and water sports clubs. The southern part with its points and its islands is more wild and natural. These are great places for observation and hiking.
