    • An exceptional location in Martillac, in the heart of the Pessac-Léognan appellation

Château Haut Nouchet is a family property acquired in 2008 by the BRIEST family.

Château Haut Nouchet: a timeless place whose landscape and protected natural environment invite you to come and enjoy the pleasures of nature.

Just 20 km from the centre of Bordeaux, this wine estate welcomes you to its 32 hectares of vineyards, woods and meadows which constitute a true ecological paradise dedicated to the production of high-quality white and red wines.

      The terroir and the vineyard

The terroirs of Château Haut Nouchet consist of gravel known as "günzian" on a clay-limestone base: this mosaic of soils allows the production of a range of exceptional, unique red and white wines.

Each of the red (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc) and white (Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon) grape varieties is thus planted in the best location in order to produce very great red and white wines reflecting the expression of these magnificent terroirs.

From vine pruning to harvest, everything is carefully considered to obtain perfectly ripe and balanced grapes, an essential condition for the production of great wines.

Committed to preserving the environment, the health of its soils and vines, the Briest family practices a reasoned approach to the production of its wines.

At Château Haut Nouchet, there are no immutable rules: it is the philosophy of tailor-made that dictates each year the different choices ranging from soil and vine work to vinification and aging in order to express through the different wines all the potential of each vintage.

Whether you are a beginner or an expert, come and discover and explore the Château Haut Nouchet estate, by participating in a unique wine tourism experience combining history, visit - tasting in a serious but relaxed atmosphere.

Whether shared as a couple or in a group, alone or with family, Château Haut Nouchet will share with you this passion from the land to the glass, explaining in an educational way each step of the production of its great white and red wines of the AOC Pessac - Léognan.

Discovery and tastings are on the program:

I was welcomed by Magalie for a "From Terroir to Glass" tour and tasting, and despite the small size of our group (just myself), Magalie took the time to explain in detail the different stages of winemaking at the Château, as well as the specific characteristics of the estate. Magalie answered all my questions with great clarity and concrete examples (especially the one about strawberries). We then visited the winery and tasted the estate's wines, with a special mention for the 2024 Etoile Blanc, which we tasted as a preview after its bottling the previous week. I will definitely be back!
