  The Castera house
  Are you looking for a room with table d'hôtes near Saint-Émilion? Located 8 km from Saint-Emilion, the 19th century building was built at a place called Castéra, on the banks of the Dordogne, in Saint-Jean de Blaignac in Gironde. Nicknamed the small castle, the mansion (1868) is in the center of an older body of outbuildings and agricultural workshops. The North barn preceded the workshop of the vine nursery. To the south, a large dovecote housed the kitchens and the pig sties. An old outdoor bread oven also bears witness to this flourishing past.

In the categorie Chambre d’Hotes this place is a gem. The location was exactly half way between our holiday destination and home. And to be so close to St Emilion was a big bonus. The Chambre d’Hotes is located very quietly and free parking in front of the house is available. The house has just been renovated and is decorated with great attention to detail with fresh and modern style with antique finishes. The house has a lovely and warm atmosphere. Hosts Olivier and Nathalie are generous and very hospitable. They cooked us a lovely 3 course meal. Being a patissier and a chocolatier one can imagine their culinary skills are great. Clean and spacious room and bathroom, great shower, nice bed.

Joined for the dinner table. It was an amazing home dining experience. Local ingredients and love, cooked perfectly with the neighbors wine. They gave us a tour of the rooms which were stunning, we will 100% be visiting again. Wish I took photos, but I was too busy loving everything.

We had a great time at Malis Castera. The hosts are very friendly and welcoming. We had the best dinner and breakfast during our vacation in France. They did everything to make us feel at home. The room was very nice with high quality furniture. There are so many lovely details all around the house. This place is incredible and in reality it is way better then on the photos, highly recommended!
