Palais Gallien Historic Monuments in Bordeaux

Take a plunge back to Gallo-Roman times, when Bordeaux was known as Bordigala, in front of the Palais Gallien, the ruins of the amphitheatre of that bygone era. The city's oldest vestige, it welcomed up to 20,000 spectators on its wooden bleachers to applaud the games. It has been an archaeological dig site since the 19th century.
