    • Château Balestard La Tonnelle, immersive tours in the heart of a Grand Cru Classé Saint-Émilion

The setting is magnificent and makes you want to spend hours wandering among the vines. Perched on the heights of this UNESCO-listed village (the second highest property in the village), Château Balestard La Tonnelle is a unique destination for wine lovers and those curious to discover the secrets of winemaking. Join the Capdemourlin family and let them share 13 generations of winemaking passion with you through discovery tours, oenology workshops, and tastings of their fruity nectar.

Fascinating visits to a renowned region

The site is steeped in history, as the Capdemourlin family has been cultivating the estate since 1647, preserving a winemaking heritage passed down through generations with unparalleled expertise. During your visit, you'll have the pleasure of strolling through the vineyards (GPS tracking helps identify the plots) before enjoying a glass of elegant and structured wine on a terrace with panoramic views. Several tours are available:

      • The "origins" tour to discover the meticulous work of this Grand Cru Classé estate, followed by a tasting of 3 wines (1 hour)
      • The "A Story of Terroir" tour includes a blind tasting of 3 wines (1.5 hours)
      • A tasting to appreciate 3 wines on the rooftop during a guided tasting (30 minutes)
      • The Vertical Tasting, a unique tasting workshop presenting 6 vintages between 2000 and 2020 in a secret room (1h30)
      • The "Tannins & Cocoa" workshop complements a visit with a tasting of 3 wines and 3 chocolates (1.5 hours)

Prepare your senses for an incredible experience !

On the program:

      • A unique one-hour wine escape game where the goal is to find Madame De La Farce, a missing oenologist. With wine and chocolate tasting and an introduction to oenology, it promises to be a delightful experience!
      • Wine tasting courses featuring Bordeaux Grand Cru Classé wines to awaken your senses and refine your technique according to your level. The added bonus? A chocolate tasting!
      • An eco-responsible blending workshop to create your own personalized wine while discovering Bordeaux single grape varieties
      • An introduction to oenology with 3 tasting experiences for a sensory analysis accessible to both amateurs and beginners
      • Vigne Sens, the pleasure of strolling through the heart of the vineyards via an immersive route suitable for young and old who experience 3 intense sensory experiences.

The lovely new release for 2026 that isn't even online yet! The 1647!

This 3rd wine from Château Balestard La Tonnelle, light, fruity, easy to drink with little alcohol, is a real delight at an affordable price, a little viticultural gem that refers to the year of creation of the Capdemourlin Vineyards.

Great spot! Close to the town and gorgeous vineyards. Had a wine tour with Audrey and she was great, really knowledgeable about the production of wine at the chateau but also the area. Would highly recommend!!
