Château Ambe Tour Pourret, organic Grand Cru, 1 km from Saint-Émilion
Just 1 km from the medieval town of Saint-Émilion, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Château Ambe Tour Pourret is one of the most comprehensive wine tourism destinations in Saint-Émilion. Owned by the Lannoye family, the estate produces an organic Saint-Émilion Grand Cru. Visitors can also discover Celene Crémant de Bordeaux, produced in the Entre-deux-Mers region, another Lannoye family estate. Open year-round and welcoming couples on getaways, families, groups of friends, and companies for their seminars, the château offers a range of wine tourism experiences rarely seen in the Gironde: tours, tastings, cooking classes, cocktail workshops, and gourmet evenings. Certified by Vignobles & Découvertes and Accueil Vélo, the estate is also a winner of the Best Of Wine Tourism award in the Gastronomy category. The team welcomes visitors in French, English, and Spanish.
Tours and tastings in the heart of an organic Saint-Émilion Grand Cru
The château offers several tour and tasting options to discover the inner workings of a Grand Cru Saint-Émilion estate practicing organic farming. The classic tour and tasting (€18 per person, 1 hour) takes visitors through the vineyards, the winery, and the barrel cellar, before a guided tasting of three wines from the Lannoye estate and Celene sparkling wines. For a more in-depth experience, the wine and cheese pairing tour and tasting (€26 per person) offers a gourmet pairing of three wines from the estate with three carefully selected cheeses in a convivial atmosphere. Reservations are recommended via visite@celene-bordeaux.com. Free tastings are available at the shop for walk-ins, and online ordering is available on the estate's website.
Cooking classes, cocktail workshops and gourmet breaks
Beyond the tour, Château Ambe Tour Pourret distinguishes itself with a unique gourmet wine tourism experience near Saint-Émilion. Private cooking classes (for 2 to 18 people, from €161 per person) allow you to don a chef's hat in the château's kitchens, guided by a professional chef, and enjoy your own menu paired with a Celene Crémant, a red wine from the Lannoye vineyards, and the Grand Cru Ambe Tour Pourret. Even more original, the Crémant de Bordeaux Cocktail Workshop introduces the basics of mixology using three Crémants (Blanc de Blancs, Blanc de Noirs, and Rosé). For a relaxed lunch, the Tour, Tasting, and Picnic package (€45 per person, lunchtime except Saturdays) offers a platter of charcuterie, cheeses, a truffle croque monsieur, and a canelé made by the chef overlooking the vineyards. An ideal offer for hen parties, stag parties, team building, birthdays or simply for satisfying gourmet cravings.
A Raclette Party and a wine bar for the cooler seasons
A special house specialty that delights regulars: the Private Raclette Party, held every weekend from November to early March in the château's living and dining room. For €60 per person, in groups of 6 to 12, the château is reserved exclusively for you for 4 hours for a cozy, candlelit evening—including a tour, a glass of Crémant as an aperitif, raclette with cheeses and charcuterie from a regional delicatessen, a glass of Grand Cru wine, and a canelé glacé to finish. The château also houses a wine bar offering charcuterie boards, croque-monsieur, duck parmentier, or beef Bordelaise, depending on the season. The estate is open year-round, with 7 days a week during the summer. Check opening hours for specific times of year. A must-visit destination for wine tourism in Saint-Émilion, just a 5-minute bike ride from the Roger Lapébie cycle path.
