    • The castle of Castets-en-Dorthe proudly camped above the Garonne/Canal junction, offers an extraordinary view, the current buildings are from the 16th century and rest on the foundations of a "castera". It was built in the 14th century by Raymong Guilhem de Goth, nephew of Pope Clement V. On November 15, 1314, after authorization from the King of England, Edward II. Many modifications were made there at the end of the 16th century by Jean de Favas, to whom we owe the various triangular bastions facing the town.

During the 100 years war, Du Guesclin took over the castle from the English. During the religious wars, in 1585, the castle inhabited by Jean de Favas, a Protestant, was besieged by Marshal de Matignon. Henry of Navarre (future Henry IV), accompanied by Sully, came to raise the siege and to show that he had accomplished his work, stayed there. In 1697, the seigniory was definitively acquired by Charles du Hamel, from whom the castle took its name.

Since then it has remained in the family.
