I had an extremely disappointing experience yesterday at the Villa Clémenceau Spa, and I'm writing a review because, at this price point and level of luxury, what happened to me is unacceptable. It was a detox ritual treatment, a Christmas gift from my husband. Upon arrival, I explained to the receptionist—who was apparently the manager—that the booked massage focused heavily on foot reflexology and abdominal massage, two areas I don't enjoy at all. I then asked if it would be possible to adapt the treatment to a more relaxing and general massage, at the same price. This request was clearly acknowledged, but no real solution was offered, other than repeating the type of massage I had booked. Once in the treatment room, the therapist was clearly aware that I don't enjoy abdominal massages. I calmly explained the situation to her again. I want to make it clear that the therapist is not at fault: she was professional and courteous, but clearly forced to follow the instructions she had been given, without any room for adaptation. The massage therefore began as initially planned, despite my repeated explanations and despite my stating that it was neither pleasant nor relaxing for me. The therapist even confirmed that I wouldn't enjoy this type of massage, which makes the lack of prior adjustments all the more incomprehensible. After about ten minutes, seeing my growing frustration, she finally took the initiative to change the treatment to a "Californian" massage, she told me, but without any prior discussion about my expectations, preferred areas, or any explanation of the proposed treatment. Access to the "Spa" was also very disappointing: a sauna, a salt cave, and a few sofas facing a screen. No tea room, nothing to hydrate with after an 80-degree sauna, which would seem like the bare minimum in this type of establishment. In short: – no sense of customer service – no adaptation to expressed needs – a stressful experience instead of a relaxing one – very poor value for money I strongly advise against this establishment.

I went for a massage in December 2025. I had booked an appointment for 10:00 AM, without realizing that was their opening time. I arrived 15 minutes early. It was a very cold day, -5 degrees Celsius outside. The staff at the Villa saw me trying to open the door and wait outside but didn't bother to offer me a warm place to wait until my massage time. Then, when I finally went in, I was given a lecture on essential oils after being asked which scents I liked, while being told that you shouldn't talk about scents when referring to essential oils. In short, a rather unpleasant, almost academic experience, as I was treated with such condescension. Then came the massage itself: no relaxing music in the treatment room, so you could hear the construction work in the street. And to top it off, the masseuse's hands were freezing because it was so cold outside. Frankly, for an establishment that's supposed to be rather upscale, I'm very disappointed. The money my partner paid for this experience should have been spent elsewhere… I won't be back.

Thank you to Ines for this wonderful massage session which completely relieved the tension in my neck and shoulders, which were sore from poor posture at work. I feel so much better 😊 You're never disappointed at La Vla Clémenceau!
