Bordeaux is considered as the " most attractive destination in the world for 2017 " by Lonely Planet. It must be said that the city is putting the means and doing its utmost to offer its visitors a quality of life worthy of this great capital of Aquitaine.

It has the longest pedestrianized shopping street in Europe, rue Sainte Catherine! It is THE good address in Bordeaux, with all the major brands, luxury and designer boutiques. It is a temple of fashion, design and gastronomy! North of the street, do not miss its typical mall 19th century.

You will also find many concept stores there : WAN, Mieux, Le Bonendroit, Boom Boom, Do youspeak français?

Did you know The concept store is a sales area that offers you objects, according to a theme and not simply in relation to their function. The big outlets of Bord'eau village

On the outskirts of the city center, on the banks of the Garonne, there are old hangars rehabilitated in the shopping area, the Quai des Marques. It accommodates " outlets ", these factory outlets and destocking outlets of the major brands. Renamed " Bord'eau Village ", it is still improving to offer you a real " activity village " with many services : coworking, reception center, nursery, play area for children, stroller rental, restaurants, wifi… Our blogger has tested it for you, see her article on chic and discount shopping all year round in Bordeaux (fr).

Second-hand shopping at thrift stores, antique shops and flea markets

For a change, why not try another way of consuming to surf the vintage trend. To find second-hand products in thrift stores in Bordeaux, original creations from recycled objects or local crafts, go to the Darwin eco-district. This former military area has been transformed into a space of creativity and innovation with eco-responsible ethics.

If you are a lover of beautiful objects, go to the Chartrons district, a bargain hunter's paradise! You will find many second-hand and antique dealers there. It is one of the recommended visits to Bordeaux.

Another place is emblematic of Bordeaux commerce, the Saint-Michel district. Historically, the Garonne dumped products from upstream producing regions there, making this sector very commercial and popular. It has managed to preserve this soul in its markets : the Marché des Capucins and the Marché Neuf, and in its local shops. Today, it is one of the most multicultural districts of Bordeaux, with a very lively atmosphere.
