  We spent two weeks in August at Camping l'Orée du Bois and were quite disappointed, especially since we wrote to the campsite about these issues and received no response (as promised). To summarize: - Safety problems at the pools and water slides; several children/people fell around the pool. Unsupervised groups of teenagers didn't respect the rules. - Technical problems; we experienced numerous power outages (affecting many mobile homes), six out of the fourteen days we stayed, without explanation. With the summer heat, it was over 40°C in the afternoons. We had to forget about naps for the children and leave the dog inside the mobile home. We lost the contents of a refrigerator... - Noise problems, despite the manager's reassuring words about the noise stopping at 11 pm... Every night, numerous groups were talking very loudly until midnight/1 am. What surprised me most was the lack of response from reception and management... I tried to email them upon my return, but they didn't even bother to reply. There are plenty of other campsites in the same area; we will definitely change campsites next year. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I am adding to my review following Eva's response from Camping l'Orée du Bois. Thank you for your feedback; it's a shame it took more than two months to get a response to my Google review. The reception staff asked me to email the manager, which I did as soon as we got back... What about his reply? I think he could have replied himself, since we were asked to write to him directly! During the reception, he himself assured us that he remained available for the vacationers... Lifeguard team -> One of the lifeguards was quite good (the Aquagym instructor), the other was constantly on his mobile phone... As a lifeguard myself, I don't think you can do the job properly while being on your phone so much. I think I would have been more inclined to try another trip "at one of our Aloa Vacances destinations" if the manager had at least had the decency to reply or get back to me. We can clearly see that the welcome speech and the stated rules are purely marketing, unfortunately, just like your response, which doesn't seek to improve the problems but simply provides pre-written answers.

  This campsite is a DISASTER!! I'm forced to give it 1 star, but 0 would be more appropriate. The campsite is poorly maintained, the pitches are tiny, the pool is unsupervised and dirty, the entrance is unsafe, the clientele is quite peculiar and disrespectful for a "4-star" campsite, there's no lighting at night, the kids' club is unsanitary, there are repeated power cuts, and it's very noisy at night... All in all, it's more like a nightmare than a holiday. The only positive point is that some of the activity leaders were really great with the children.

  I stayed the week of July 14th. This campsite is a disaster. The pool is always dirty, the water is cloudy, and there's no lifeguard (there is someone there, but they're always on their phone). The snack bar is very expensive and of poor quality, and there aren't many tables and chairs. The general maintenance leaves something to be desired; everything is old, the kids' club is unsanitary, and the parking lot entrance is unsecured and very dangerous for children. The campsite's old swimming pool (hidden by a simple privacy screen) is a real mosquito nest, in addition to the smell of stagnant water. The pétanque court isn't level and is full of holes, making it unplayable. The campsite has no lighting at night; there are plenty of unprotected ditches. The mobile homes are stacked on top of each other, and there's no privacy. There were regular power outages, at least one every other day during my stay. There's no barbecue (fire risk). Could you add an area with an electric griddle? Oh no, that would harm the snack bar. The campsite's population is quite unusual; there's a lot of incivility. The managers don't want to hear anything. This campsite is nothing like a 4-star hotel. Honestly, avoid this campsite, because paying €1,400 for a week at this campsite is so bad.
