- In the town of Verdon-sur-Mer, the Marais du Conseiller borders the Gironde estuary. It is a marshy area, at the heart of this specific ecosystem, linked to the mouth and the meeting of fresh and marine waters. An interlacing of channels separates the meadows, forming a humid environment favorable to the nesting of birds. It is also on the migratory route and offers a stopover for migrating birds. Originally, these are old salt marshes , rehabilitated into a crustacean breeding basin, which attracts birds all the more. During your visit, you will probably come across some ruminants which graze peacefully and which participate in the authentic atmosphere of the place.
