    • Château Haut-Goujon, an authentic wine tourism experience in the heart of Bordeaux's right bank

In Montagne, just a few kilometers from Libourne and at the gateway to Saint-Émilion, Château Haut-Goujon is recognized as one of the most genuine and human-centered wine tourism destinations on the Right Bank of the Gironde. A family estate for four generations, it is now run by Mickaël Garde and his wife Valérie, along with his sister Corinne, supported by Hicham, with Liliane, aged 83, still present on the estate. It is this deeply human dimension — transmission, perseverance, love of the land — that makes every visit here a rare experience, far removed from the standardized circuits of traditional wine tourism.

Château Haut-Goujon, 18 hectares certified HVE4 across two exceptional appellations, Lalande de Pomerol and Montagne Saint-Émilion

The vineyard of Château Haut-Goujon extends over 18 hectares across two prestigious appellations: Lalande de Pomerol and Montagne Saint-Émilion. Certified High Environmental Value level 4 since 2011, the estate is committed to sustainable and responsible viticulture: green manure sown in autumn, mechanical weeding, maximum reduction of phytosanitary products, and shallow soil work rather than deep tilling. The wines, produced without added sulfites or with only the minimum necessary, sincerely express an atypical terroir planted with 80% Merlot, complemented by Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and Petit Verdot. A strong and immediately recognizable wine identity.

Château Haut-Goujon, a winery open for visits, seminars and cultural events near Libourne

Since the construction of its new winery in 2016, Château Haut-Goujon has chosen to open its doors wide. The owners welcome visitors for engaging and enriching tours. The bright and modular reception room regularly hosts artists, associations, and companies for seminars, training sessions, meetings, or private dining events. The estate also opens its doors during public events to showcase its cuvées — La Cuvée Liberté, the Cuvée Malbec, Château Haut-Goujon Lalande de Pomerol, and Fleur du Barril in Montagne Saint-Émilion — in the warm atmosphere of a living estate. We arrived on Sunday without an appointment, but Liliene gave us a wonderful tour of the winery with a fantastic tasting. I've rarely laughed so hard. Simply fantastic!! P.S. The wine is delicious.
