From early May to September, in the Sauternes region, La Terrasse de Lafaurie transforms the courtyard of Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey into a summer restaurant serving cuisine cooked over an open fire. The estate's second restaurant, alongside the two-Michelin-starred Restaurant Lalique, it offers a more relaxed atmosphere, designed for both guests of the five-star hotel and visitors. A must-try for lovers of flame-grilled cuisine, families visiting the south of Bordeaux, and groups of friends enjoying a wine tour.

A brazier-cooked meal inspired by wine-growing regions

Around the brazier set up amidst the diners, chef Jérôme Schilling and his team offer a menu inspired by the world's great wine-producing countries —France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, and Latin America—bridging the old and new worlds of wine. Marinated meats, grilled fish, seasonal vegetables, and worldly seasonings are shared in a spirit of conviviality, sharing, and culinary exploration. This stylistic exercise complements the neighboring Michelin-starred cuisine, and that is precisely what makes it so original.

In the heart of the castle, a summer table under the pergolas

The service takes place outdoors, under pergolas, surrounded by the estate's historic walls. The atmosphere is decidedly summery, the dress code is relaxed, and the pace is different from that of the fine-dining restaurant. Open for lunch and dinner during the season, from Tuesday to Sunday lunchtime, La Terrasse de Lafaurie welcomes guests of the 5-star hotel as well as outside visitors by reservation. The drinks menu offers around sixty wines, as well as wines by the glass. Live music is featured every Wednesday evening (the band changes weekly; please check the château's website for details).
