    • Discover The Circle of Montaigne

Located in the heart of the Palais Gallien Hotel & Spa ***** in Bordeaux, Le Cercle de Montaigne embodies a new vision of French gastronomy: creative, convivial, and resolutely focused on the quality of the ingredients. Formerly La Table de Montaigne, this discreet establishment has now become a must-visit gastronomic restaurant in Bordeaux, blending elegance, boldness, and a spirit of sharing.

Nestled in the Fondaudège district, a few minutes from the city center, Le Cercle de Montaigne invites you to a refined culinary experience in an intimate setting inspired by the private clubs of the 1930s.

Creative gastronomic cuisine driven by a new generation of chefs

At the helm of the kitchen, William, head chef, and Joey, pastry chef, form a passionate and complementary duo, driven by a love of the product and a respect for the French terroir.

      William, head chef

Originally from Bordeaux, William trained in iconic Bordeaux restaurants such as Le Gabriel and Le Pavillon des Boulevards. His experience at the St. Regis Bora Bora allowed him to refine his mastery of seafood and precise cooking techniques. After participating in the opening of the restaurant La Fine Bouche, he has now joined Le Cercle de Montaigne, where he elevates raw ingredients with precision, delicacy, and exacting standards.

      Joey, pastry chef

A creative soul, Joey discovered restaurant pastry at a young age, which became his preferred medium of expression. Trained in Brittany and enriched by several gastronomic experiences in France and Melbourne, he now creates modern desserts, playing with textures, temperatures, and colors to offer a light and indulgent finale to every meal.

A committed, local and authentic restaurant

At Le Cercle de Montaigne, the cuisine is local, precise, and authentic. The chefs prioritize French products, support regional producers and artisans, and offer a menu that evolves with the seasons. Each dish tells a story: that of contemporary French gastronomy, generous and masterful.

An elegant and welcoming setting in the heart of Bordeaux

The salons of the Cercle de Montaigne – the Salon Vert and the Salon Rouge – offer a refined atmosphere blending precious woods, black marble, leather, and soft lighting. Without white tablecloths, the black marble tables emphasize a relaxed elegance, ideal for a business lunch, a romantic dinner, or a gourmet interlude with friends.

In the dining room, Julien and his team welcome you with professionalism, attentiveness and naturalness, for a service worthy of the finest establishments.

Opening hours & lunch options at the Cercle de Montaigne

      The restaurant is open:

      Lunchtime : Wednesday to Saturday

      Dinner : Tuesday to Saturday

      Lunch options:

Starter + main course + dessert: €37 per person

Starter + main course or main course + dessert: €28 per person

A gastronomic experience to enjoy in Bordeaux

Le Cercle de Montaigne is much more than a restaurant: it's a place to experience and discover, where passion for the craft, quality ingredients, and the art of hospitality converge. A discreet and elegant address, ideal for rediscovering the pleasures of French gastronomy in Bordeaux.

👉 Book your table now at Cercle de Montaigne and let yourself be seduced by this new culinary experience in the heart of the Palais Gallien Hotel & Spa*****.

A captivating discovery!! The place exudes a refined elegance, almost timeless, with an intimate, warm, and subtly understated atmosphere, just the way I like it. The service is precise, delicate, and perfectly executed down to the smallest detail. The cuisine is a true sensory experience 👌 The red prawn carpaccio, enhanced by a yuzu marinade, was simply divine. Delighted to have been invited… and already eager to return 🫶

An elegant interlude at the Cercle de Montaigne. From the amuse-bouche to dessert, each dish is perfectly balanced, precise, and delicate. The sommelier's suggested pairings reveal delightful surprises, chosen with taste and subtlety. Special mention goes to the impeccable service, flawless from start to finish, despite the challenging circumstances facing the team. A restaurant that lives up to its reputation.

Superb food! All courses exceeded expectationd and the pepper crusted steak was very tender and perfectly cooked. The small size of the restaurant slso makes it a very cosy but elegaant setting
